Finally finished all assignments for CVAP 1! Hooray!

This last one, the dubbed tear-jerker movie scene, took quite a while as for one thing, this is the first time I'm doing something like this... so didn't know where to start. What should I do first? What to do after? Where does this go?

But eventually, I managed to piece together this little nugget. It involved taking the audio from the movie itself -- thank God it was a 5.1 source, so I had audio channels with just the background, and was able to take out the volume of the dialogues.

All that was left was to record each character's dialogue and line them up!

Dobby's Death

This scene really got me back in the day, as it was the death of one of this series' beloved characters, Dobby. A house elf that was actively keeping Harry Potter from doing what needs to be done, mischievously putting up obstacles time and time again, Dobby has turned into one of Harry's bestest friends.

After saving Harry Potter and his friends from a trap laid by Death Eaters, Dobby is fatally wounded by Bellatrix's attack. He succumbs to his wounds while Harry shakingly carries his body, hoping against hope that things will turn out for the better.

Alas, that is not to be.

00:25 Dobby: Dobby never meant to kill. Dobby only meant to maim.. or... seriously injure

00:39 Dobby: Dobby has no master. Dobby is a free elf! And Dobby has come to save Harry Potter... and his friends!

01:19 Harry: (panting) Hermione! You're all right. We're safe. We're all safe!

01:26 Dobby: H-harry P-potter...

01:31 Harry: (whispers) Dobby...

01:37 (Dobby groans)

01:44 Harry: (panting) Dobby... no, just... hold on... Hold on. Look, just.. hold on.. okay? W-we'll fix you. Hermione... will have something. In your bag. Hermione?

02:00 Harry: H-hermione? Herm- (whispers) What is it? Help me!

02:08 Dobby: Such a beautiful place... to be with friends.

02:18 Dobby: Dobby is happy to be with his friend... (whispers) Harry Potter.

02:48 Luna: We should close his eyes. Don't you think?

02:57 Luna: There. Now he could be sleeping.
