Week 1

Week 1 Wrap-Up

06/30/20 20:03

This workshop is one of the better ones I've attended, considering it is being done practically online. It reminds me of the 3-day workshop at AIM for the Landmark Forum, wherein YOU were deconstructed and finally rebuilt without any emotional baggage... what could be called as YOU, made by YOU. Of course, it isn't as exhaustive or thorough, nor does it tackle the same things, but the learnings received during the CVAP workshop is meant to be carried throughout your professional voice acting career.

The steps I've taken to accomplish our assignments have been documented in the following daily posts, and shows the things that you have to learn and go through just to get that first step to becoming a voice artist. Of course, it helps that I've had some experience technically, particlarly with time management, website development, graphics, some recordings, and content creation... BUT I've never used these before in any cohesive manner. Meaning, I've never used them to create content for ME before. And this is refreshing. All these skills, and that long-time desire to do voice acting, is finally getting some real-life use.

If you'll notice, I've started working on the assignments early on, not just because of excitement, but because I know I'l be busy for the rest of the week. It may take a while (and lots of unsleep), but I value my "me" time above all. It's great that you can zone-out during work mode, but without that valuable "me" time, you're headed for burnout city. So work 'til you can, and when you start feeling tired, pull back and go watch Netflix or something. Like Assassin's Creed Origins. Which I haven't done since this workshop started.

But it's all good.
